STATEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF 27TH COMMEMORATION OF THE GENOCIDE AGAINST THE TUTSI OF RWANDA

AC GENOCIDE CANADA STATEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF 27TH COMMEMORATION OF THE GENOCIDE AGAINST THE TUTSI OF RWANDA

On the occasion of the 27th commemoration of the genocide against the Tutsi of Rwanda, AC Genocide Canada joins hands with the international community to salute the memory of those innocent victims and to express sympathy with the survivors and those who had lost their love ones.

AC Genocide Canada takes advantage of this commemoration to reiterate its commitment to the Never Again.

AC Genocide Canada deplores Burundi’s failure to arrest the 679 Burundian nationals wanted in Rwanda for their participation in the 1994 Tutsi genocide despite the fact that their list was submitted as early as July 2008. AC Genocide Canada fears that this impunity will prevail as long as Burundi is led by an organization that belongs to a regional genocidal network.

AC Genocide Canada takes advantage of this commemoration to recall that Burundi’s ruling CNDD-FDD was found by a UN commission of inquiry to be an abettor of the infamous ex-FAR and Interahamwe militia in their pursue of the crime of genocide.

AC Genocide Canada reaffirms its willingness to cooperate with organizations that are genuinely committed to the Never Again.

Done at Toronto, on April 7th, 2021.

Emmanuel Nkurunziza,

Secretary, AC GENOCIDE CANADA.
